The
Shabby Apple Dare to Design contest ends today, so I thought I'd enter another dress! This one is made of a vintage rayon fabric that I got several yards of at Goodwill--I didn't know what I'd do with it, but I love the color. It's actually a little too lightweight for a dress, so I was sure to line it well. Ideally, it would be made of a medium weight out of either cotton poplin-type weave or, for a more suit-like look, lightweight wool. It could be made of silk crepe de chine for a dressier style.
I designed this with a sort of retro feel, with the boatneck and all, but also some modern and figure-flattering lines like the pleated tapered skirt.
The neckline is trimmed with three self-fabric bows, attached on the edges.
It zips up the center back and fits snugly at the waist and through the bust.
The short cap sleeves work well with the wide neckline, I think.
oh i love this one! super cute.

I like that your dress (inspite of being inspired by vintage fashion) looks so trendy and not dated. The shade of yellow that you used is perfect. Definitely, this is the best sun dress.
