SO much fun at the Portland Bloggers meet-up!

Lucky, lucky me--I got to go to the April Portland Bloggers meet-up last weekend, and had SUCH a great time!

The event was put on by Jenni of A Well-Crafted Party and Leave the Laundry for Later, with help from Sam of Sam Rosen.  The event was held in the community room of the posh Atwater Place in Portland's South Waterfront district--thanks to the lovely Adi of Garden of Edlen for the space!

Here are some pics I was able to take in all the hullabaloo...
Sam, Justine, and Megan
It was a cocktail party, not a brunch like the other events, so significant others were invited, too!  My sweet husband came along and not only was a good sport but had a great time, himself!

Oh, and how about a How to Wear DIY portion of this post?

Well, I haven't told you about the dress I made for the event yet (that post coming soon!  Details and all, I promise!) so how about we do this in reverse order?

Here's an outfit post for ya, featuring the peplum skirted dress I made...
Necklace, shoes: Forever 21 (similar and similar shoes). Belt: Charlotte Russe.
Lipstick: Radiant Poppy. Dress: DIY, post coming soon!

Oh, and the moral of the story?  Look around for blogger groups in your area and really try to go to their events.  You won't be sorry!  I always feel really excited and positive when I get to talk to other bloggers.  And if you're in Portland, of course... email Jenni for details, and I hope to see you at the next event in June!

  4. You are adorable! Looks like fun. I have a good DIY question for you ... How do you get your lipstick so perfect!! I am just starting to dive into bold lip colors, but I have somewhat thin lips and the color always falls off onto my skin a bit and it bugs me. I tried a clear lip liner, but maybe I just need a better one? Any tips would be fantastic. You always have such bright beautiful lips, I have lip envy :). And as always, your dress is stunning!

    1. Aaw, thanks! Hmm, I tend to favor long-lasting lipsticks, which I think are crisper by nature. If you want a really, really long lasting one (it's like a thick glaze/stain) try Revlon ColorStay in the liquid--I can't imagine it ever spreading! It doesn't come in tons of bright colors, though, but I bet there are others that do! I've also heard that the MAC lipstick base is amazing and makes any lipstick work like a long-lasting one.

  8. Your husband is a good sport! We had other plans so I couldn't make it, but there is no way I would have been able to drag my husband there.
